Mapping: A Chapter Series
Costume/ Textile Design
“Mapping: A Chapter Series” is a multi-genre performance piece rooted in the post-modern contemporary style. The choreography was performed at Brown University’s Fall Dance Concert 2025 produced by Shura Baryshnikov.
My segment of “Mapping: A Chapter Series” explores knit textile developments as wearable architectures used to process cycles of emotions. This piece encapsulates the journey of 6 states of being: Wonder, Uncharted Discomfort, Ethereal Disassociation, Death of Self, Revival of Trust, and Yearning. Each state is defined by color, texture, and imagery associations that guide the performance of wearable paintings. The performers were given machine knit swatches derived from the various emotions with the attentional directives of embodying each phase of the cycle.
